I'd like to thank the Academy...

Ok, so no, I didn't win an Academy Award.  Far from it.
However, I did receive the Stylish Blogger Award!  And lots of appreciation and thanks goes to fellow blogger and Youtuber Snarky P, for giving this award to me. Her blog is The Eyes Have It.
With the acceptance of the award, there are rules you must follow:
1 - Thank and link back to the person that awarded you this award
2 - Share 7 things about yourself
3 - Award 15 recently discovered great bloggers
4 - Contact these bloggers and tell them about the award
Well I guess I can go on by telling you some things about myself that you don't know.

1.  I started doing nail art because I saw some beautiful tutorial on Youtube.  I saw them and kinda thought "hey, I can do that too."  hehe.  So I started doing nail tutorial videos as a bit of a break from my hectic school work.  The odd thing is that now that I"m finished school and am working, in theory I should have more time for videos, and yet it seems to be the opposite.

2.  I've only been doing nail art for 2 years. But I've been doing my own manicures since grade seven

3. I don't have too many hobbies that I stick to on a regular basis, like I do with nail art.  However, I do sporadically enjoy sewing and crafting (but not scrapbooking).  I also have an interest in health and fitness and enjoy reading health related books and magazines.

4.  I am pretty tall for an asian.  I'm 5'-10 (maybe 5'-11" if I stand up straignt :)  I get my height from my father's side of the family.  My dad's 5'-8" which is pretty tall for his generation.  And I have a cousin, on my dad's side of the family, who's THE talles asian I've ever met.  He's 6'-7".  yeah!  crazy tall!

5.  I don't really like to read.  I keep trying because I know it's good for me, but unless I find a book that really captures my interest, i just get bored and my eyes get tired really quickly.  Luckily, i'm getting into audiobooks and it's a great way to hear a book while on my semi-long commute to work.

6.  I'm a bit of a geek for MythBusters and podcasts called Stuff You Should Know, and Stuff Mom Never Told You.  If you like learning random stuff, or stuff related to gender/women's studies/issues, you should check these out.

7.  I'm a sucker for animated movies.  I'm dying to get I finally got my hands on a DVD of Despicable Me, and I cried/teared up at least twice while watching Toy Story 3.

I must admit that my posts here lag behind my Youtube videos significantly, and I don't spend too much time searching around for new blogs very often.
So, my list of 15 recently discovered great bloggers will be kind of here and there, and unfortunately cut down to 7.  But none the less they're all bloggers that I enjoy keeping up with and, of course, who I think have great style.

. Susie @ Style Bubble
This daring fashionista hails from the UK and is an omnipresent eye at all the most wicked fashion shows as well as online fashion blogs and websites.  She's been featured many times over as "most-influential-fashion-blogger" in the eyes of many editorial publications - both online and off.  I definitely love her daring eye for bright color and plucky patterns and textures.

. Danielle @ What Would Emma Pillsbury Wear.
If you're a fan of Glee and fashion, this is a MUST READ blog for you.  Danielle breaks down the fashion of Emma Pillsbury, the fashionably shy guidance counsellor at McKinley High.  She challenges readers to fashion together sample outfits suitable to Emma, posts labels and prices and websites where you can track down the exact pieces used in episodes of Glee - from both Emma's wardrobe as well as most of the female cast, as well as some of the boys fashion items also.  This blog is totally fashionable and stylish and awesomely entertaining!

. Heather @ Sokolum.
Heather is a fellow Canadian Style Guru on Youtube.  She has an accompanying blog that also covers more than her youtube channel.  She's got a wicked sense of style that I only wish I had the courage to express.  Her blog posts are mostly about eye makeup looks, her hair and her tatoos.  Once in a while she'll pull out a pretty wicked nail tutorial too.  Those of you who shy away from dramatic makeup may not like her makeup tutorials.  But, on the other hand... maybe you're like me - and you'd never wear that makeup look yourself, but you can't turn away because you're still fascinated by her techniques, her color combinations, and the absolute beauty of the final looks.

.Josh Clark and Charles W. (Chuck) Bryant @ Stuff You Should Know.
What can I say?  I discovered these two when I randomly downloaded a couple of their podcasts as I was working on my thesis at about 2am a year ago.  I've been hooked ever since.  Their blog is on the website www.howstuffworks.com - which is in the family of The Discovery Channel.  I became addicted to their podcast because they made totally banal subjects interesting and funny.  (though I have yet to listen to the one on How College Football Rankings Determined.... mostly because I just don't care :)  But you should check out their blog, like their facebook page, follow their twitter and most of all, download their bi-weekly podcasts free from itunes.  Because let's face it: learning is always in style.

. Sherry & John @ Young House Love.
This young couple love to DIY it up on their old house.  They're not experts.  They just learn on the job and continue to upgrade their beloved home with small renovation projects, little decor updates as well as more substantial renovation projects.  If you're into home improvement, you'll love reading about how they show their house it's loved.

. Tracy & Lauren @ Your Daily Thread.
If you're into green living you've probably already heard of this.  But if you're eco-curious, YDT is definitely worth checking out.  There are lots of great little tips and tricks to help you live green in every way - from fashion and food to travel and playtime.

. Kathleen @ Grosgrain.
If you're into DIY that's fashion or textile related, you'll love this blog.  She's got lots of great posts about dresses, textiles, and video tutorials too. - and even a few non-fabric related crafts!  I think this blog is fab!  ... and just writing this post makes me realize that I've been neglecting it.  : (  gotta catch up on some reading!

A big thanks again to SnarkyP @ The Eyes Have It. for passing this blogger award my way.

And to all my followers, I'd like to give a long distance hug to you for reading and commenting on my blog.  I hope you enjoyed finding out about a bit more about me and meeting some of my favorite blogs.

Have a great week!
