NOTD: Holiday Lavender Sparkle
My first gradient!
I used OPI: Done Out In Deco and Art Deco: Silver Glitter.
I applied the silver glitter with a crease eye shadow brush actually. ...only because I didn't have any sponges, which I believe may work better. (and are disposable)
Don't have a tutorial on it, but I could do one if requested. :D

Nails of the Day - Red+White Flower - Konad Stamping With Regular Polish + Tips for Choosing Good Polishes for Stamping
I had a request on YouTube to do the stamping with other brands of nail polishes.
The ones I used this time were the red and white from LA Colors Art Deco Nail Art Lacquer.
The base color was the same as in my last NOTD (I think it was a pale pinkish by Rimmel.) The stamping was generally successful.
Basically you can use any kind, but there are certain key things to keep in mind that will determine the success/failure of the stamping:
1. The polish should be relatively opaque. If you're not sure how opaque it is (when you're in the store) make a little test swatch on your nails, or (if you're already wearing polish) make a test swatch on a white piece of paper. If the paper is still fairly visible behind the steak of polish, it may be less successful for stamping especially when used over a dark base color.
2. The polish should be preferably on the thicker side for consistency rather than thinner and runny. Thicker polishes will mimic the dense quality of the "special polish" that Konad sells. If you have any old polishes that are almost empty and/or are getting really goopy and thick from lots of use, these are perfect. the repeated use and exposure to air has made these old goopy nail polishes perfect for stamping! So don't throw them out!
3. Polishes that are matte with minimal shimmer tend to be better. Particularly stay away from ones with larger glitter pieces in them. The glitter will not work well with the delicate fine lines that are often found in the image plates.
4. Metallics also work really well because the polish generally need to be opaque in nature to be a metallic/or chrome.

Nails of the Day - Natural Pink with Gold Glitter
Here's my rebellion against the mod red/white/black nails.
I needed something neutral because the colored stripes and all the stamping that i've been doing lately was kinda getting a bit much for me.
So this is my rebellion with a neutral pink nail with just a touch of gold sparkle.
It's very wearable for every day.
The two polishes I used are at the bottom. :)
i felt like making the line into a star

Nails of the Day - White/Red/Black Art Deco Nail Polish
Okay. I need real harsh honest opinions. I like the idea of this design, but find it kind of distracting to see a diagonal black line across my nails.
Is this design great or tacky?

Friends for Christmas
Had a good chat with my best friend, Christine while I was on the bus on my way to the doctor [about an eye infection... ewwwww]
She's in Hamburg, Germany doing her PhD. We chatted recently for a bit. Man, I miss this girl. I don't really think about her too much these days because we've been in different countries for almost 2 years, and in different cities for over 4 years, so it's not unusual for us to go months without communicating at all. [and unfortunately when we do communicate it's usually via facebook]
We just caught up a bit today. We had chatted just a week or so ago, before she left for a symposium where she was giving a lecture. She was really nervous about not being prepared and concerned about questions that people would ask about here presentation, which was her research, but only in the aspect that she was told to research someone else's method, so she did.
As expected, it went really well.
She also got a new roommate who's very clean. This has her very excited because one of her old roommates who just moved out was not clean at all. yay for clean roommates. [in the past month, my roommate has only cleaned the toilet, once. Other than that, i've been doing all the cleaning]
Well, Christine has booked her flight home for christmas! She's going to be in Canada for almost three whole weeks! I'm pretty excited. I expect to be flying home for Christmas also. Can't wait. Haven't seen this girl since last christmas!

Still LOVING the Konad Stamping method!
I also purchased some nail art nail polishes in my 'i'm-sick' justification for getting more nail polishes.
Tutorial will be posted on YouTube and ABB soon!
yay nails!

Beautiful People
It's funny how boys/men can consume your thoughts when you're interested in someone.
My housemate is totally boy crazy and it's amusing because I thought I was boy crazy, but man, i'm nothing compared to her. Although she is three years younger than me, so maybe i'll be a bit lenient because i was maybe a bit more 'crazy' when i was a bit younger too.
Usually she's got some crush on a guy at school, and she talks about him constantly. Although it's amusing and interesting to hear her go on and on about a conversation that she had with her crush of the moment, it's unfortunate because they don't seem to reciprocate her interest.
Currently she's interested in a boy who is definitely showing some interest back. But he's having issues with something because she's out right told him that she 'really likes him' and all he said back was 'i really like you too.' I mean, c'mon. A girl doesn't tell any guy friend that she 'really likes him' unless it's more than friendship.. right? or is that more common than i'm used to?
I was in a long distance relationship for three and a half years. We broke up last fall. After that I decided to not pay attention to boys and focus on finishing school. (I'm expecting to finish my thesis at the end of this fall term.) There was a guy at school [is name is Shy] who i would see in the halls once in a while, and always though was cute, but never did much on because i was literally too focused on school.
Last week was the first party of the semester. I randomly made out with a really cute boy (not in my school.) Hahaha.. I haven't made out with a cute guy on the dance floor in literally years! It felt nice.
He held me really close and he put his hand on my back under my tank top. It felt really nice. ...just to be held. I don't expect to hear from him. But sometimes it's nice just to have some skin to skin contact. I think it's just something that's ingrained in us to be soothing.
I think that's why I prefer hugs to kisses.
They can feel so much more intimate.
[Un]fortunately, nothing will happen with him. He is not someone i see anything actually happening with.

It's funny how when you allow yourself to feel emotional about something so small about someone you don't even know. Suddenly I started to realize that there are other beautiful people who are not in my life. ...but who I wanted to be.
Like Shy.
Shy is beautiful.

FIRST!!!
So I've been a member of YouTube for only a little while now. I've posted my first video.
But I really like watching others' videos. Once in a while I'll scroll down to the comments and often see that the first person to comment doesn't actually have anything to say. but since they claim to have seen the video first they comment: "First!!"
What the hell is the point of that?
It's so lame. If you don't have anything to say, don't just shout out something for the sake of attention. YOU'RE NOT FIVE YEARS OLD.
